Sometimes ad hoc views are developed to be used in an ad hoc report eventually, and the result could encompass a rather lengthy query that will be stopped by the ad hoc timeout setting of the server. As the resulting report will be probably be executed on a schedule rather than interactively, the timeout should be configurable independently. (Could also be a timeout for scheduled vs. interactive execution.)
