A report is developed in Jaspersoft Studio

Parameters exist for which no default value is defined.

In the Jasperserver input control panel, [null] is displayed as default value for parameter.

The workaround in order to display blank instead of [null] is to set the default value in Studio to an empty string (i.e., "").

This is a problem, however, because database query may treat empty string different than NULL and the wrong results are returned.

I want null to be passed into my query but I do not want [null] displayed to the user in the input control panel because it is ugly.
