As of release JRS 8.1.1, and 8.2.0 - the Ad Hoc Cache feature is only configurable at the server level. While the caching of data makes sense (to increase performance of regularly retrieved data), it does not ALWAYS make sense across all domains. There should be a feature added to allow caching to be selected when creating a domain. Some domains need to be up to the minute, while others can be relatively aged but still valid.
