The scheduler simply uses the FTP/FTPS protocol to upload the report output in the format that they were generated. There is no file archiving or zipping mechanism built into it before it does the upload.
Large report output files in varioud formats to be zipped before JR Server FTPs to destination. This would benefit in network traffic and storage.
