When a calculated field references a missing field in a domain, the error that pops up to the user is as shown in the screenshot attached. 

We need a more user friendly error message so that user action can be taken to correct the error. 

This exception message wont be understandable by users. So in this case, a user friendly message may be that calculated field should be automatically remove from that ad-hoc view or kind of warning message for user to remove that field while they open this ad-hoc view.
